Easy method of making Pulau at home (video)

Kathmandu: One of the greatest festivals of Nepali Hindu women, Teej  is nearing. Women have started inviting and arranging ‘Dar’ for their friends and dear ones ahea of Teej.  During the Teej, Pulau is considered as the main food. However, some of us may not know the way of making Pulau. In this video, the method of preparing special Pulau is given with ingredients.


Required content:

Basmati rice soaked for half an hour

Green peas, butter or ghee

Bay leaf, Cardamom, Cloves, Cinnamon, Chilly

Raisin, Cashew, Salt, Sugar



Heat the pan and add ghee or butter.

Then add bay leaf, chilly, cardamom, cloves, cinnamon and leave for few seconds.

After few seconds stir it lightly and add raisin and cashew.

Now put the peas and mix well. Then add rice and sugar and stir it.

After mixing sometimes add water and cover it for 20 minutes.

After twenty minutes Pulau is ready.
